How to Change Your Windows VPS Password

Guide to changing the Administrator account password on a Windows VPS Server via Computer Management.

You can change your VPS password to something easier to remember. Here's how.

Important: Once changed, do not forget your new password. Digitalku does not store your password. If you forget it, the only option is to reinstall the VPS.

Steps

Step 1 β€” Log In to the VPS

Log in via Remote Desktop using the Administrator account.

Step 2 β€” Open Computer Management

Double-click Computer Management on the desktop or find it in the Start menu.

Step 3 β€” Access the Administrator User

  1. In the left panel, click Local Users and Groups β†’ Users
  2. Right-click on the Administrator user
  3. Select Set Password...
  4. Click Proceed on the confirmation dialog

Step 4 β€” Enter the New Password

Fill in both New Password and Confirm Password with the same new password.

Password requirements:

  • Must contain lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers
  • Minimum 3 characters (a longer password is recommended for security)

Step 5 β€” Click OK

Click OK. A confirmation dialog will appear β€” click OK again.
