Step-by-step guide to connecting to your Windows VPS using Remote Desktop Connection — from opening the app to successfully accessing your VPS desktop.
Remote Desktop lets you control your Windows VPS from anywhere, just like a regular PC. Have your VPS IP address, username and password ready (they're in the activation email from Digitalku), then follow these steps.
Step 1: Open Remote Desktop Connection
Click Start → Windows Accessories → Remote Desktop Connection. Or press Win + R, type mstsc, and press Enter.
Step 2: Enter Your VPS IP
Type your VPS IP address in the Computer field, then click Connect.
Step 3: Enter Your Username and Password
Enter your username (usually Administrator) and password, then click OK. Tick Remember me if you don't want to type the password next time.
If the window shows your own Windows account instead, click More choices → Use a different account first.
Step 4: Click Yes on the Certificate Warning
This warning is normal the first time you connect. Tick Don't ask me again for connections to this computer, then click Yes.
Step 5: Done, You're In
Your VPS desktop appears and is ready to use, for example to run MetaTrader around the clock. When you're finished, just close the Remote Desktop window: your trading apps keep running on the VPS.
