Winetricks digiOS Guide: Install Windows Components

This tutorial was created to help users digiOS in installing Windows support components which are often required by certain applications, such as .NET Framework, Visual C++ Redistributable (vcredist), Windows fonts, and other system libraries.

In the digiOS environment, some Windows applications — including trading applications and MetaTrader EAs — can not running perfectly if the supporting components are not available. Common symptoms include applications failing to open, features not working, abnormal displays, or specific error messages.

To overcome this, digiOS provides Winetricks, which is a tool to help install various additional Windows libraries and components into the system in an easier and more controlled manner.

(For Windows Application & MetaTrader EA)

In some conditions, MetaTrader / EA / Windows application may experience problems such as:

  • The application won't open
  • MetaTrader force close
  • EA is not running
  • Blank chart / EA panel not showing

🔹 How to Run Winetricks

  1. Entered into digiOS Desktop
  2. Open Terminal
  3. Run the following command:
winetricks library_name

📌 Use space, not quotation marks
📌 Run one by one, wait until finished
